FOX News has launched its free iPad App, which is available at the Apple App Store beginning June 1st, announced Jeff Misenti, Vice President and General Manager of Digital Media. This marks the first tablet app for FOX News, which currently holds Apple’s leading free news app for the iPhone in 2010.

In making the announcement, Misenti said, “We’re very excited about the launch of this new product which aims to integrate all parts of the channel, and have already received a tremendous number of requests for the app from our loyal audience.”

Designed to provide users with an enhanced visual and easily digestible news experience, the FOX News app delivers various multimedia functions such as: live streaming, breaking news alerts, audio of FOX News Radio, slideshows, as well as videos of favorite programs and major news events. Other key features include: Happening Now, where users will be able to swipe for a quick glance at the latest news and FOX News Ticker, which will send users the latest news headlines directly to their desktops.

The FOX News app also has the ability to save content to “Favorites,” allowing viewers to watch at any desired time. Additionally, consumers will be able to share content through social mediums like Facebook and Twitter.
