NEW YORK — May 2, 2023 — FOX News Media, in partnership with the National Merit Scholarship Program, has selected the recipients of its fourth annual Dr. Charles Krauthammer Memorial Scholarship, announced FOX News Media CEO Suzanne Scott. The 2023 scholarship recipients are Benjamin Fuchs, the son of Marketing Promotions and Partnerships Director Debra Fuchs and Kate Parker, the daughter of video editor Joshua Parker. The winners will be featured on Special Report with Bret Baier this evening at 6 PM/ET. Dr. Krauthammer was a signature part of Special Report’s panel throughout his tenure with the network.

In making the announcement, Scott said, “We are delighted to recognize Benjamin and Kate, both of whom are exemplary students whose skills extend far beyond the classroom. It’s our great pleasure to continue honoring the life and legacy of Dr. Charles Krauthammer who contributed so much to FOX News with his brilliant insight and analysis.”

Benjamin Fuchs is a senior at Elwood-John H. Glenn High School in Elwood, New York where he serves as the Vice President of the Chamber Strings Orchestra. He is also the high school representative and lead volunteer at the Commack Community Pantry and a youth Jiu-jitsu instructor. He intends to major in electrical and electronics engineering this fall at Penn State University.

Kate Parker attends Walter Panas High School in Cortlandt Manor, New York, where she serves as president of the school’s equity club, is a violinist in its orchestra, a member of the chorus, captain of her ballet company, and the treasurer of the gender and sexuality alliance club. She plans to attend Marymount Manhattan College in the fall to double major in dance and environmental studies.

Established by FOX News Media in 2018, the Dr. Charles Krauthammer Memorial Scholarship awards eligible children of network employees a monetary stipend per college year for a maximum of four years. All aspects of the program, including the selection of winners and the administration of their awards, are conducted through the National Merit Scholarship Program by the independent, not-for-profit National Merit Scholarship Corporation (NMSC).

To be eligible, U.S. high school juniors planning to enter college in the fall of 2023 must have taken the PSAT/NMSQT test and met several academic and other requirements set by the NMSC. Winners were selected on a competitive basis without regard to family financial circumstances, gender, race, ethnic origin, or religious preference. Once chosen, the NMSC disburses the scholarship directly to the accredited U.S. college/university following a determination the student has remained in good standing. Furthermore, the scholarship belongs to the student and is not affected should their parent leave the company following the communication of the award.
