SPECIAL REPORT WITH BRET BAIER’S EXCLUSIVE INTERVIEW WITH PRESIDENT ZELENSKYY DRAWS 6.4 MILLION VIEWERS BEATING NBC’S NIGHTLY NEWS AND CBS EVENING NEWS

NEW YORK – March 4, 2025 – Special Report with Bret Baier’s exclusive interview with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy on FOX News Channel on Friday, February 28th beat NBC’s Nightly News and CBS’ Evening News as it dominated television, peaking with 6.4 million viewers and 855,000 in the 25-54 demo from 6-6:15 PM/ET. The interview, which was President Zelenskyy’s first reaction to his Oval Office meeting with President Trump, drew 6.2 million viewers and 775,000 in the 25-54 demo from 6-6:30 PM/ET, leading all cable and a number of broadcast programs with viewers, including NBCs Nightly News from 6:30-7 PM/ET (5.76 million viewers) and CBS’ CBS Evening News (3.9 million viewers). Special Report also beat multiple broadcast primetime programs on Friday night including CBS’s NCIS Sydney (4.4 million viewers), Fire Country (4.3 million viewers) and S.W.A.T. (3.7 million viewers); ABC’s Countdown to Oscars (2.2 million viewers) and 20/20 (2.2 million viewers) and NBC’s Dateline (2.2 million viewers).

The full 6 PM/ET hour saw Special Report command a whopping 5.7 million viewers and 661,000 in the 25-54 demo. Special Report secured 73% of the cable news share at 6 PM/ET with viewers and 66% in the 25-54 demo. According to data from Nielsen MRI Fusion, Baier was the number one cable news anchor with all political parties on Friday and 50% of his audience was comprised of democrats and independents. President Zelenskyy was the third world leader to appear on Special Report last week, following Baier’s interviews with French President Emmanuel Macron and UK Prime Minister Keir Starmer. Compared to the show’s already high 2025 average (3.5 million viewers and 414,000 in 25-54 demo), Friday’s program was 63% higher with viewers and saw a 60% increase in the 25-54 demo. Additionally, this was the second highest-rated 6 PM/ET hour on a Friday in FOX News history behind the 2017 Inauguration of President Donald Trump.
