FNC’s Bryan Boughton Promoted to Senior Vice President of the D.C. Bureau

NEW YORK – AUGUST 9, 2018 — FOX News Channel’s (FNC) Cherie Grzech has been named Vice President of the Washington, D.C. Bureau, while Bryan Boughton has been promoted to Senior Vice President of the bureau, announced Jay Wallace, President of FOX News and Executive Editor. Grzech will oversee all day-to-day operations in the bureau, as well as the politics unit, reporting to Boughton who will be responsible for all Washington based operations and continue reporting to Wallace. Bill Sammon will continue in his role as Senior Vice President and Managing Editor of the Washington unit.

In making the announcement, Wallace said, “Cherie has been a major asset to the network for nearly two decades and we are thrilled to promote her to this new role where we know she will thrive.”

Wallace continued, “We are also proud to promote Brian who will continue helming FNC’s largest key bureau.”

As Vice President of the Washington bureau and politics, Grzech will oversee all departments within the bureau including editorial operations. Additionally, she will continue to supervise polling operations, as well as special election events. Grzech has been with the network for more than 17 years, joining as a field producer in FNC’s Chicago bureau in 1999 and most recently acting as the Senior Director of News and Politics. Prior to joining FNC, Grzech was a news director for WILX-TV (NBC) in Lansing, Michigan, the Managing Editor for KATU-TV (ABC) in Portland, Oregon and the Assistant News Director at WRAL-TV (CBS) in Raleigh, NC. She received a Bachelor of Arts degree in Journalism/Political Science from Michigan State University, and a Master of Arts degree in New Media from American University.

Boughton has spent the last 23 years of his career at FOX News where he began as the original overnight assignment editor for the affiliate news service prior to the launch of FNC. Most recently, Boughton was Vice President of the D.C. bureau where he supervised various teams based out of Washington. In 2009, he assumed the role of Bureau Chief. Prior to this, Boughton served as the Director of Special Events and the Political Director where he was responsible for the network’s special coverage of the 2006 midterm elections. Previously, he was a Senior Producer of Weekend Live and assisted with producing political specials, conventions and election nights. In 1996, Boughton was one of two producers assigned to build and operate a White House unit for FNC. He then went on to become a White House producer for the network. Boughton started his career at Tribune Broadcasting as a Washington Assignment Editor.
