FOX NEWS BOOKS TO DEBUT “THE WAR ON WARRIORS” BY PETE HEGSETH
New Title Marks 11th Launch from FOX News Media’s Book Imprint
NEW YORK – May 22, 2024 – FOX News Books, the publishing imprint for FOX News Media, will release its 11th book on June 4th entitled “The War on Warriors: Behind the Betrayal of the Men who Keep us Free” by FOX & Friends Weekend co-host and Army veteran Pete Hegseth. Following his national bestseller, “Modern Warriors,” Hegseth will explore how changes in the armed services have affected those in uniform and impacted our ability to protect the nation.
In commenting on the book, Hegseth said, “This book is personal to me. As a veteran, I have seen firsthand how a woke agenda impacts our ability to fight and win wars. The fight for freedom can only be won when our military is a meritocracy, not a social experiment. We need to get back to recruiting, training, and forging brave men and women to defend our nation—when we do that, nobody does it better than America.”
“The War on Warriors” follows FOX News Books’ run of New York Times bestsellers including Hegseth’s 2020 book “Modern Warriors: Real Stories from Real Heroes.” Uncovering the deep roots of dysfunction in our military, and a society that has forgotten the people who protect the security of the United States the book combines Hegseth’s own experiences and tales of fellow men in uniform and dissects the ways in which the chain of command has lost sight of their mission.
Hegseth served as an infantry Major in the Army National Guard with tours in Afghanistan, Iraq and Guantanamo Bay. He holds two Bronze Stars and a Combat Infantryman Badge for his service in Iraq and Afghanistan. He is also the author of multiple bestsellers, including “Battle for the American Mind” (June 2022), “American Crusade” (May 2020) and “In the Arena” (May 2016) in addition to “Modern Warriors.” He joined FOX News as a contributor in 2014. Currently a co-host of FOX & Friends Weekend alongside Will Cain and Rachel Campos-Duffy, he has also hosted the FOX Nation Patriot Awards for the past five years, honoring America’s everyday heroes, including military veterans, first responders and inspirational figures who have contributed to their communities. In January 2024, Hegseth debuted a FOX Nation special titled Poison Ivy, which examined the shift in Ivy League schools and their decline with growing antisemitism, the rejection of Judeo-Christian values and the promotion of leftist political agendas.
Since the launch of FOX News Books in 2020, the imprint has sold more than 2.5 million copies across 10 titles. In addition to Hegseth, the imprint has published Shannon Bream’s trilogy; “The Women of the Bible Speak” (March 2021), “The Mothers and Daughters of the Bible Speak” (March 2022), and “The Love Stories of the Bible Speak” (March 2023), along with “All American Christmas” by Rachel Campos-Duffy and Sean Duffy (November 2021), “Faith Still Move Mountains” by Harris Faulkner (October 2022), Johnny Joey Jones’ “Unbroken Bonds of Battle” (June 2023), Carley Shimkus’ “Cooking with Friends” (October 2023) Jimmy Failla’s “Cancel Culture Dictionary” (January 2024) and most recently, Dr. Nicole Saphier’s “Love, Mom” (April 2024).
